We're looking for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to help shape the future of healthcare data.

Job duties: 

• Lead software development on a software platform on cloud. Specifically, lead infrastructure-as-code initiatives for the scalable deployment and capacity planning on the platform with dedicated environments for Staging, Demo and Production.

• Oversee scripting and integration needed to maintain an efficient CI/CD pipeline that deploys artifacts to Staging, Demo and Production environments.

• Own responsibility for costs associated with cloud infrastructure and requisite monthly monitoring/reporting.

• Lead development of the Secure Data Gateway on cloud. Development includes installation, updating, and other configuration features with integration into the relevant cloud providers’ marketplaces.

• Work on service backends and API development that support user facing features.

• Serve as a primary contributing developer to the resilience and availability of platform services via instrumentation, monitoring, and redundant configurations.

• Contribute to features of the data ingestion and processing pipeline on cloud to service program, search experience and other user-facing applications.

• Achieve SOC2, HITRUST certifications.

• Set the bar for proactive code coverage, functional automation and timely PR reviews and merges.

• Deliver training on key topics like privacy, ethics, and security.

Education and Experience required: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field and 12 years of software engineering experience. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field and 10 years of software engineering experience. 

Background: 

Position requires 5 years of experience in:

1. Oversight or primary development responsibility for a critical software platform or infrastructure component;

2. Early-stage start-up software development characterized by prototyping, designing and building full-stack features at extremely high velocity, with 70% clarity of product requirements and engineers iterating jointly with product management on the remaining 30%;

3. Backend development, specifically: designing, implementing, testing and shipping microservices or service backends for web and mobile based applications, primarily using one of the following: Java, Go or Typescript;

4. Building and delivering features in backend services specifically aimed at resilience, performance and availability under heavy workloads (> 1000 rps);

5. Building and automated management of IT infrastructure via tools like Terraform and Kubernetes on a public cloud provider (infrastructure-as-code);

6. AWS stack: EC2, MSK, Spark on EMR, RDS, S3, or CloudWatch;

7. Transitioning implementation systems to Google Cloud and Azure equivalents;

8. Using Observability/Monitoring tools such as DataDog or OpenTelemetry to diagnose and troubleshoot observed behaviors on Production services;

9. SOC2 compliant backend Security practices (common attack vectors and threat modeling exercises), tooling and compliance reporting. 

10. Monitoring and optimizing cloud storage, or computing costs on AWS or equivalent cloud provider;

11. Writing technical specs and documents; and

12. Working directly or collaborating with cross-functional teams located in different offices.

Salary: $213,512 to $255,000 per year
