Staff Product Manager, Health AI SDK

About HealthEx
HealthEx is a healthcare interoperability company building the connective tissue between patients, their health records, and the AI-powered applications transforming how care is delivered. We believe that people should own their health data — and that the apps, agents, and clinicians they trust should be able to act on it seamlessly.
We’ve built industry-first integrations with Anthropic’s Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Salesforce, and we work with leading payers and digital health applications to make unified health records accessible wherever care decisions happen. Our platform connects to national health information exchanges (TEFCA / QHINs), FHIR endpoints, and clinical document sources — and the engineering team builds every layer of that stack.
What You'll Own
Health AI SDK strategy and roadmap. Define the product vision for evolving HealthEx’s MCP Server into a comprehensive Health AI SDK. Chart the path from data retrieval tools to insight generation primitives, and from insights to action-oriented capabilities that connect patients to real-world care delivery.
Clinical data knowledge graph. Own the product definition of how the SDK exposes and reasons over the relationships between FHIR resources — conditions, medications, labs, encounters, care plans, and their temporal and causal links. Define how AI agents should traverse this graph to generate clinically grounded insights rather than surface-level summaries.
AI developer experience. Design the SDK’s developer surface: tools, skills, prompts, structured artifacts, and composable MCP capabilities that make it simple for any AI agent to go from “show me the patient’s record” to “help the patient act on what matters.” Stay on the cutting edge of the rapidly expanding ecosystem of MCP servers, agent frameworks, and AI developer tooling.
Insight-to-action pipeline. Define how the SDK translates patient engagement into meaningful next-step determination: identifying care gaps, surfacing follow-up needs, recommending preventive actions, and connecting users to providers, labs, pharmacies, and specialists through an ecosystem of care delivery partnerships you’ll help build.
Trust infrastructure integration. Ensure every SDK capability is built on HealthEx’s identity, consent, and data provenance layers. The digital health wallet is the foundation: patients control what data is shared, which actions are authorized, and who can act on their behalf.
Care delivery partnerships. Identify and establish the ecosystem of partners — provider networks, telehealth platforms, lab ordering services, pharmacy integrations, care navigation companies — that the SDK needs to connect to in order to close the loop from insight to action.
Cross-functional execution. Work hand-in-hand with Engineering, Design, and Clinical advisors to ship iteratively. Write detailed requirements and technical specifications. Own launch readiness and adoption metrics for SDK capabilities.
What You Bring
Clinical data fluency. You have deep familiarity with the FHIR data model — not just individual resources, but the relationships between them: how Conditions link to Encounters, how MedicationRequests reference Observations, how CarePlans tie to Goals. Ideally you bring a clinical informatics background or equivalent depth from building products that reason over EHR data at scale.
AI developer ecosystem expertise. You understand the rapidly expanding landscape of MCP servers, agent frameworks, prompt engineering patterns, skills/tool registries, and structured artifacts. You’ve built or defined developer-facing AI products — SDKs, APIs, or platform capabilities — and you have strong intuition for what makes a great developer experience.
Product management rigor at a senior level. 7+ years of technical product management, with at least 3 years in healthcare data, AI/ML platforms, or developer infrastructure. Staff or Principal-level scope: you’ve owned strategy end-to-end, not just feature execution.
Insight-to-action thinking. You naturally think beyond data retrieval to “what should happen next?” You can articulate how a patient’s lab result connects to a care gap, how a care gap connects to a recommended action, and how that action connects to a real provider, lab, or pharmacy through a concrete integration.
Trust and consent design sensibility. You understand why identity, consent, and auditability are foundational — not afterthoughts — in health AI. You can design product flows where patients remain in control even as AI agents take actions on their behalf.
Partnership instinct. You’ve built or managed ecosystem partnerships and understand how to evaluate, structure, and launch integrations with care delivery partners at the pace of a startup.
Builder’s mindset. You thrive in early-stage environments where ambiguity is high and your judgment shapes what gets built. You write clearly, prioritize ruthlessly, and ship iteratively.
What Makes This Special
You’ll define a new product category. There is no established “Health AI SDK” on the market. You won’t be iterating on someone else’s playbook — you’ll be writing it, with industry-first partnerships with Claude, Copilot, and Salesforce already in production as your foundation.
The full stack is here. HealthEx already has the identity layer, consent infrastructure, TEFCA connectivity, and unified record platform. You’re not starting from zero — you’re building the intelligence and action layers on top of proven infrastructure.
Meaningful scale in a small team. With a product team of ~5, every engineer’s work ships to production fast and has outsized impact. You won’t spend months waiting for your code to reach users.
The right moment in healthcare. TEFCA is rolling out, CMS interoperability mandates are tightening, and AI is finally making unified patient records actionable. HealthEx sits at the center of all three trends
An environment built for growth. We actively invest in our team’s ability to learn, experiment with AI productivity tools, and reimagine how their roles evolve. Your career trajectory here will look different — and better — than anywhere else.
